We are happy to report that the 2005 Quiksilver Hawaiian Islands Vintage Surf Auction was once again a complete success. With over $300,000 in sales, a substaintial amount was raised for the Hawaiian Life Guard Association, Junior Guard program. All in attendance reported having a great time and we'd like to thank our sponsor Quiksilveredition, along with participating sponsors, Duke's Restaurant Waikiki, Longboard Magazine, Hawaiian Airlines, Pictures Plus and the All Collectors Show 2005.
The pre-auction party saw probably the biggest gathering of "surf legends" in history, with Greg Noll, Joe Quigg, Matt Kivlin, Bing Copeland, Dick Brewer, Ben Aipa, Tom Morey, Mike Doyle, Rusty Miller, John Severson, Charlie Galanto, Buffalo Keaulana, Henry Preece, Fred Hemmings, Jock Sutherland, Ricky Grigg, Jeff Crawford, Peter Townend, Barry Kanaiaupuni, Don Stroud, Bob Shepard, Ray Beatty, Felipe Pomar, Peter Cole, Rabbit Kekai, Don Craig, Joey Cabell and a host of others in attendance. Everyone attended the live auction and without a doubt, it was far and away the best auction ever.
