Tom Blake "Catalina" Mini Surfboard 5'3" 1946 (9)
Another great find! One of the series of Tom Blake boards that will be up for auction, this was the last of the manufactured Blake boards. What makes this so special is the size and the fact it was made for surfing, with the square tail design. Only 5'3" long X 18" wide X 4" thick. Referred to as a "breaker" board. Plywood construction just like the bigger paddle boards, with Blake metal drain plug and wood burned Catalina logo. Red pin line on the deck and the finish is untouched. Some wear and tear, but no repairs or re-varnish. All original condition. A very rare example of a Blake piece of history! Pre-auction estimate: $5000-$7500
